‘Climbers conquer 9 Peaks above 8000m in 45 Days’– what a historic achievement. Norwegian mountaineer Kristin Harila, a record-breaking trailblazer, achieved the remarkable feat of summiting all 14 peaks above 8000m in just 370 days. Once again, she is on a mission to conquer the formidable task of scaling 14 peaks above 8000m in a mere 3 months. Along with Nepali climber Tenjen (Lama) Sherpa, Kristin has accomplished an extraordinary feat by conquering 9 mountains over 8,000 meters in an unanticipated 45 days.
Their incredible journey commenced on April 26, with the ascent of Mt. Shishapangma (8,027m). It was followed by the triumph over Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188m). On May 15, Kristin and Tenjen reached the summit of Mt. Makalu (8,481m). Likewise, on May 18, they climbed Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m) successfully.
Their latest triumph was reaching the summit of Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) on June 10. At around 3:30 am, Kristin, and Tenjen with other members stood atop the real summit of Mt. Manaslu. This success follows their previous climbs of Mt. Annapurna (8,091m) on June 5, Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m) on May 29, and Mt. Everest (8848.86m) and Mt. Lhotse (8,516m) on May 23.
Kristin and Tenjen will soon head to Pakistan, where they will embark on the next part of their expedition to tackle the remaining 5 peaks, including the formidable K2 (8, 611m). We extend our best wishes for great success to both Kristin and Tenjen as they endeavor to achieve and succeed in their ambitious goal.
