Kami Rita who holds the record of summiting the world’s highest Mt. Everest for 28times set another record. Kami Rita Sherpa sets a world record with 42 summits of 8000 m peaks. He achieved this new feat by successfully ascending the world’s eighth highest Mt. Manaslu on September 26, 2023, around 8:10 a.m. With this achievement, now he holds the world record for ‘Maximum climbs of 8000 m Peaks’. This achievement crowned him as the ‘Individual Mountaineer with the Most Successful 8000 m peaks’ in the history of world mountaineering.
Kami Rita works as a Senior Climbing Guide who first mounted Mt. Everest in May 1994. In this field of mountaineering, he has been for almost three decades. From 1994 to 2023 (present), he has scaled Mt. Everest 28 times, K2 and Mt. Lhotse each once, Mt. Cho Oyu 8 times, and Mt. Manaslu 4 times making it to a total of 42 summits. This is truly an inspiring achievement and for years this record will stay as a testament to the strong dedication and passion for climbing mountains.
