Khopra Danda Trek is a newly developed route in the vicinity of the Annapurna region. It is slowly gaining popularity among travelers as an alternative trekking route in the Annapurna region. Trekkers seeking a peaceful trekking experience, that is less popular, and crowded, then Khopra Danda Trek is an ideal trek for them. This route was developed to support local communities in raising the economic standard of the locals. Khopra Danda or Ridge is at an elevation of 3,660m and offers phenomenal views of the 23 major mountain peaks. Khayer Lake at an elevation of 4,600m is the highest point of this trek. A hike to this holy lake is magical and attracts trekkers with its natural beauty.

Itinerary

6-7 hrs Hotel

Your trekking guide receive you from your hotel in Kathmandu at 6:30 AM and take you to the Tourist Bus Station at Kantipath. At 7:00 AM the bus leaves for Pokhara, exiting the valley of Kathmandu at Thankot and then descending through the winding highway. During the fascinating drive, you make two shortstops for tea and breakfast at some convenient locations. After arriving in Pokhara at around 2:00 PM, you check in at your hotel, freshen up, and have lunch. Walking along the Lakeside would be a good idea for the evening. You are advised to get some good sleep to begin trekking the next day.


4 hrs Teahouse

A private vehicle, leaving at 8 AM transfers you to Tikhedhunga (1,480 m), via Nayapul. Then, ascend uphill to arrive at Ulleri (1,960 m) which takes about 2 hours. Enjoy the scenic vistas of Annapurna South, Machhapucchre, and Himchuli peaks, where you spend the night at a teahouse.


7 hrs Teahouse

After breakfast, you begin ascending the terraced path to Banthanti, from where the path routes through a thick forest. After having walked for about 5-6 hours, reach Ghorepani (2,875 m). It is known to be a major settlement of Pun ethnic people. If the weather is fine, witness a greater part of Annapurna Ranges from your room and the setting sun paints the scenery leaving an artistic effect on the horizon. Overnight in a teahouse.


5-6 hrs Teahouse

Walk down through the forested trails in the vicinity of oak, and pine trees. Cross a small river and walk downhill to reach the beautiful village of Swanta. From Swanta, head towards Dhankharka also known as Chistibung. Walk past rough off-beat trails admiring mountain vistas, and surroundings. Reach Dhankharka and stay overnight.


4 hrs Teahouse

After breakfast, start the trek with an uphill ascend traversing the dense forest. Upon arriving at Khopra Danda, relish the majestic snow-covered mountain views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Overnight in a teahouse.


5-6 hrs Teahouse

Khayer Lake trip is the prime attraction of this Khopra Danda trek. After breakfast, prepare for a hike to mesmerizing Khayer Lake. It is at an elevation of 4,600 m, so maintain your speed and take your time to reach the destination. The trail is rugged and steep but a hike to this holy lake is fully worth it. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Annapurna South. Spend some time around and return to Khopra for an overnight stay.


6-7 hrs Teahouse

Pass through a beautiful forested trail adoring the phenomenal surrounding vistas. Walk past green valleys and trek downhill to Dobato for an overnight stay.


6 hrs Teahouse

Enjoy your breakfast and make an easy downhill walk towards the beautiful village of Ghandruk. Walk past forested trails relishing the stunning surroundings. Reach Ghandruk village and stay overnight.


4-5 hrs Hotel

Trek for a few hours toward Nayapul after breakfast. Drive to Pokhara via private transport and spend a relaxing time in Pokhara. Enjoy the lakeside tours or nightlife. Overnight stay in a hotel.


6-7 hrs Hotel

The standard scheme is to provide you with a tourist coach to Kathmandu. However, if you wish to spend some extra days by yourself in Pokhara, the return ticket can be issued for your desired date. Join the farewell dinner offered by Outdoor Himalayan Treks at an authentic Nepali restaurant where you can enjoy the live cultural show. Back to the hotel, overnight.

  • Accommodation: Basic teahouse accommodation during the trek (Deluxe accommodation for 2 nights in Kathmandu and 2 nights in Pokhara on a sharing basis

CANCELLATION

  • Free cancellation up to 60 days prior departure
  • 30% of the total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled between 60 to 30 days prior to departure date
  • 60% of total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled in between 30 to 14 days prior to departure date. 
  • No refund will be provided if cancelled within 14 days prior of departure date.
  • No refunded will be provided if the guest will not show up. 
  • Regrettably, in case where the trek/tour can not be completed due to customer's own problem or sickness or unfavourable weather there will be no refund. 
  • If the trekking/tour is extended more than given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly 
  • If the agreed trip can not be organised due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, similar trip will be organised (in the mutual understanding with the travellers)
