Nepal is renowned not only for climbing mountains but also for Peak Climbing. Nepal has numerous climbing peaks above 6000 m. Among them, Mera Peak is one of the popular climbing peaks classified as a ‘Trekking Peak’ in Nepal. Situated at an elevation of 6,470m, this peak lies in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas.
We (the Polish team), along with the amazing team of Outdoor Himalaya Treks, successfully accomplished the Mera Peak Summit. Technically not so demanding but the challenging terrains and long hours of continuous walks were undoubtedly the toughest part of this journey. Still, for our Mera Peak successful climbing, we are happy and proud of our achievement.
Trek to Base Camp:
Our adventure trek journey commenced with a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. We traversed through beautiful Sherpa villages and were highly impressed by witnessing their culture and hospitality. The elevations were rising and we reached the base camp taking much-needed acclimatization rests. It helped us a lot to adapt to our surroundings. Also, we kept ourselves hydrated throughout the journey. We advise others as well to stay hydrated and take acclimatization rest for a better and more successful journey experience.
High Camp Experience:
Mera Peak High Camp at an elevation of 5,780 m is the gateway or main point for Mera Peak Climbing. Our trek journey to Base Camp was strenuous but the team’s advice and guidance motivated us to get there. Some of our team members had difficulty breathing due to thin air. But, with proper medication and the right actions, all went well. The stunning surrounding landscapes and mountain vistas were incredible.
The Final Summit:
The final summit day was filled with mixed emotions. It can’t be explained in words. From High Camp to the summit of Mera Peak, it was not technically challenging. We had essential equipment such as ice axes, crampons, and others. A big shout out to the Outdoor Himalayan team and guides for constantly guiding, supporting, and making us comfortable during the peak climbing. The long hours of walks and rugged trails were very demanding. Finally, we reached the summit, and was a rewarding experience. From the top, the spectacular panoramic views of snow-capped mountains including Everest were the best part. After the successful summit, we returned with a great sense of achievement and pride.
Our Mera Peak Climbing was successful and we are very proud of our achievement. It has motivated all of us to push our limits and embark on this journey more. Mera Peak climbing was one of the best and most unforgettable experiences. The people, team, trails, scenic landscapes, mountain vistas, and overall journey with the amazing Outdoor Team was an exciting affair. This peak climbing journey taught us the value of nature and made us feel connected with nature more closely. Along with our successful feat of Mera Peak Climbing, one valuable learning we cherished during this journey is Nature and the mountains of Nepal. We love to come back again and embark on another peak climbing.
