Trip Overview
Naya Kanga Peak Ascent (5844m) is becoming an increasingly popular mountaineering destination in the Langtang region of Nepal. Here the novices can also have exciting peak climbing experience. Besides that, the trail to Naya Kanga and back to Kathmandu covers most of the trekking route in Langtang Valley. Therefore the ascent of this peak brings double rewards of trekking and exploring Langtang Valley and climbing a mountain. Once you stand on the top of the mountain, you will enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Himalayan region falling in Nepal and Tibet. Numerous mountains including Langshisa Ri (6310m), Pemthang Ri (6836m), Shisapangma (8046m), Langtang Lirung (7246m) and Langtang II (6581M) stand close to your eyes, dazzling you with their majestic smile.
While climbing the mountain, we set up the base camp after a short climb above Ganja La Pass. On the next day, we climb through ice and moraine for a few hours. And then set up the high camp, from where we make the final push towards the summit. After starting from the high camp, we need to pass through a section of the glacier with steep ice and that is the only technical section of the climb. Once it is over, the summit will be only about 30 m higher. The excitement you feel as you stand on the summit is simply indescribable. You can follow the same trail back to Kathmandu once your mission is successful. You can also follow an alternative route, explore the other regions of Langtang, and return to Kathmandu. Our itinerary allows you both options. Decide and choose the best one yourself.
