Foreign Visitors can now rejoice as the Nepalese government has made an exciting announcement. Recently, Nepal Dismiss Covid-19 Vaccination Essential for Air Travel. To make travel more convenient, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation (MOCTCA) recently instructed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to adjust the regulations accordingly. This decision came about as a result of a meeting held on May 14 by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC), which prompted the Ministry’s action.

The most significant change is that foreign visitors will no longer be required to carry a QR vaccination code. Additionally, the mandatory presentation of a negative PCR test report is no longer necessary when traveling to Nepal. This implementation aims to make simpler the travel experience for visitors, making it easier and more hassle-free.

The decision to remove these requirements was influenced by the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations. On May 5, 2023, the WHO officially declared that Covid-19 no longer held the status of a global health emergency. Taking this into consideration, the Nepalese government decided to align with the updated guidance from the WHO.
