Suggested Itinerary

This itinerary listed is a guideline & standard pattern which we provide, can be modify as your requirements. Leave your message for tailor-made tour itinerary.

Day 01: Kathmandu – Lukla 2840m, (flight) – Phakding 2610m (trek)
Morning flight to Lukla (35 Mins), trek to Phakding (4-5 Hours easy walk). Night at a local lodge.

Day 02: Phakding - Namche Bazar (3440m)
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar which takes about 6-7 Hours. Walk through the villages, crossing the suspension bridges. The last part of the day is relatively harder since we have to count the stairs up. Night at a lodge.

Day 03: Acclimatization day
On this day we will visit Khumjung village (3780m), or Hotel Everest View, Syangboche (3810m) to get enough acclimatization with the first view of Mt. Everest, back to Namche Bazaar overnight.

Day 04: Namche Bazar – Tengboche (3860m)
Walking to Tengboche via local villages, descending to Dudh Koshi River, and ascending to Tengboche village takes about 5-6 hours of walking. Visit the Tengboche monastery aged over 350 years. Night at a tea house.

Day 05: Tengboche – Dingboche (4410m)
Continue walking to Dingboche, which takes another 6 hours to arrive at the lodge.

Day 06: Acclimatization day
This is another day for acclimatization. On this day we will visit either at Chhukkung or around, then back to Dingboche for overnight.

Day 07: Dingboche – Lobuche (4910)
On this day we will walk to Lobuche, which takes another 5-6 Hours walking. Stop by Thukla for lunch. Night at a tea house in Lobuche.

Day 8: Lobuche - Gorakshep (5140m) - Everest base Camp (5364m) and Back to Gorakshep
This is an important day for us. Trek starts from Lobuche to Gorakshep and takes about 3 hours. After a short stop at Gorakshep, we'll keep our big luggage at the lodge and then hike to Everest Base Camp (5364m). The journey to base camp and return takes about 5- 6 hours. Night at a teahouse in Gorakshep.

Day 9: Gorakshep – Kalapatthar (5555m) Sunrise View- Sharing Helicopter to Lukla
Early morning hike to Kalapatthar (2 Hours) from where we will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of sunrise over the big mountain ranges including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, etc. From here you will board a shared helicopter to Lukla. After lunch at Lukla, explore the Sherpa community and local markets.

Day 10: Lukla - Kathmandu (flight)
Take a morning flight to Kathmandu, and transfer to the hotel. Freshen up and explore the town on your own, if you wish you can walk to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Farewell dinner in the evening.

Arrangement in Kathmandu (accommodation, sightseeing tours, meals, which are available at applicable extra cost, kindly feel free to let us know if you are looking for hotel recommendations or arranging any extra activities).

  • Accommodation: Basic teahouse accommodation during the trek (Toilet and bathroom will be outside of the room above Namche Bazar)
  • Meals: 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which you can choose from the menu- A cup of tea or coffee with each meal will be served) during the trek;
  • Transportation:Gorakshep to Lukla by Heli & Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight ticket. Airport - hotel - airport transfers by Private Transportation.
  • Documentation: Trekking permit (Sagarmatha National Park) and Khumbu village entry permit.
  • Equipment/Accessories: Down jacket, sleeping bags, first-aid kit, water purifying solution (iodine-based) if required.
  • Human resource: A professional and experienced trekking guide (English-speaking); a porter per two trekkers (carrying up to 25 kg); all the expenses for the guide and porter(s) are covered (wages, accommodation, meals, transportation, insurance, etc.)
  • Tax/Service Charge: All applicable taxes, service charges, or fees. We hereby guarantee you no 'hidden charges' afterward.
  • Complimentary: Farewell dinner in Kathmandu (authentic Nepalese cuisines with live cultural show)
  • Emergency Rescue Service: Should any emergency arise during your trek, we will provide prompt and professional rescue and medical services. However, you must be already insured for such emergencies, and your insurance policy must cover helicopter evacuation. Moreover, you should provide your policy details and authorize us to deal directly with your insurance company on your behalf. Please make sure that your insurance will cover helicopter evacuation up to 5500 meters.

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) seasons are best for undertaking the Everest Base Camp Trek with a Helicopter ride. These seasons offer stable weather and good & clear visibility.

Are there any rest days scheduled during the trek?
Yes, there are acclimatization rest days scheduled at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to help your body adjust to the high altitude.

Do I need to bring my trekking gear?
While you should bring your clothing and personal items, Outdoor Himalayan provides the necessary equipment such as sleeping bags and duffel bags. A detailed packing list will be provided upon booking.

What happens in case of bad weather or flight delays?
In case of bad weather or flight delays, the itinerary may be adjusted accordingly. Outdoor Himalayan will make necessary arrangements to ensure your safety and provide the best possible experience.

CANCELLATION

  • Free cancellation up to 30 days prior departure
  • 40% of the total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled between 30 to 14 days prior to departure date
  • 60% of total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled in between 14 to 7 days prior to departure date. 
  • No refund will be provided if cancelled within 7 days prior of departure date.
  • No refunded will be provided if the guest will not show up.
  • Regrettably, in case where the trek/tour can not be completed due to customer's own problem or sickness or unfavourable weather there will be no refund.
  • If the trekking/tour is extended more than given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly 
  • If the agreed trip can not be organised due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, similar trip will be organised (in the mutual understanding with the travellers)
