1. Sagarmatha National Park Permit
Sagarmatha National Park encloses several trails and destinations of the Everest region. You are required to show this permit at the checkpoints throughout the trek. Here is the cost breakdown for the Sagarmatha National Park permit.
- Foreign Nationals: NPR 3,000 (approx. 30 USD) per person per entry
- SAARC Nationals: NPR 1,500 (approx. 15 USD) per person per entry
- Nepali Citizens: NPR. 100 per person per entry
Where can I get this permit?
You can obtain the permit for Sagarmatha National Park at the DNPWC Counter-Tourist Service Center Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, or the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Gate in Monjo. We do advise you to get this permit in Kathmandu during the peak seasons to save queue time.
2. Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit
This permit is levied and mobilized by the Khumbu Rural Municipality, i.e., the local government. The same checkpoints as Sagarmatha National Park will check theses permits.
* Cost for Foreign Citizens: NPR 2000 (approx. 20 USD) per person for four weeks, NPR 2500 (approx. 25 USD) per person beyond four weeks
Where can I get this permit?
You can only get this permit from Lukla if you are flying to the Everest region. In case you have started your trek from Jiri, Phaplu or Salleri, you can get this permit made at Sagarmatha National Park Counter in Monjo.
