20th July -Leh Arrival

Tingmosgam Homestay in Leh is one of the most amazing and worthwhile tours organized by Outdoor Himalayan Treks for our clients at a reasonable price and flexible itinerary.  Upon arriving at Leh, get transferred to the hotel. Ladakh is at an elevation of above 3000 m (9,843 ft.) from the sea level. Thus, proper acclimatization rest is necessary. Later if time permits, visit Leh market or nearby places. Stay overnight.

21st to 24th July – Tingmosgam

Tingmosgam is an offbeat village experience in Leh where you stay for 3 nights and 4 days at a Ladakhi homestay. Travel to this amazing Tingmosgam where homestays are the prime highlights of this tour and spend the quality 3 nights in this magical village. On these 3 nights, experience the alluring nature and walk past beautiful village trails. Go for day hikes and get fascinated with the alluring beauty of this village.

Visit the famous Tingmosgam Monastery and attend the soothing prayer ceremony. Tibetan Architecture is one of the major attractions and admire its aesthetic beauty of it. For healing and to attain a sense of spirituality, immerse yourself in the practice of Buddhist Meditation. Also, witnessed farming practices and interacted with locals. Day 01 24th July -Leh Arrival

Ladakh or Leh overland tour is one of the most amazing and worthwhile tours organized by Outdoor Himalayan Treks for our clients at a reasonable price and flexible itinerary. Admiring the surroundings in a comfortable private vehicle, an overland tour to Leh commences. Upon arriving at Leh, get transferred to the hotel. Ladakh is at an elevation of above 3000 m (9,843 ft.) from the sea level. Thus, proper acclimatization rest is necessary. Later if time permits, visit Leh market. Stay overnight.

Day 02 25th July: Old Leh tour and Thiksey Monastery

In the morning enjoy breakfast in the beautiful vicinity. Then, head to old Leh town for an excursion. This old town signifies the sociocultural history of Leh and its architectural heritage displays the indigenous aspect of the town. Numerous historical buildings and religious structures are the prime attractions. Next, visit central Ladakh’s largest Gompa, ‘Thiksey Monastery’ which resembles the famous Tibet’s Potala Palace. This monastery holds the annual Gustor festival in the month of Oct/Nov. Don’t miss it, if you are here around this month. The prime highlights of Thiksey Monastery are:

  • Maitreya Buddha Statue (15m tall)
  • Assembly Hall
  • Temples (Tara, Lamokhang)

Day 03 26th July: Leh to Nubra & sunset walk

Today, you travel to the beautiful Nubra Valley traversing the Silk Route via Khardung La. Relish the amazing ride over the world’s highest motorable road (18,380 ft.) and adore the sceneries. Upon reaching Nubri, take a rest in a hotel. Later, explore the Valley and admire the arid mountains in the surroundings. If time permits tour around the Maitreya Buddha Statue (32 m tall) and the Valley’s oldest and largest Diskit Monastery. Enjoy the sunset walk. Stay Overnight.

Day 04 27th July: Hunder Dok Village

After breakfast, head to Nubra Valley’s remote Hunder Dok Village. In the vicinity, witness the Sea-buckthorn forest that has great medicinal values. The greenery and landscapes attract several tourists. You can also enjoy Bactrian Camel Rides over dunes. Also, visit one of the oldest Hunder Gompa. Homestays or basic guesthouses are the means of accommodation here. Stay Overnight.

Day 05 28th July: Hunder to Leh

The excursion to Hunder village ends and the return to Leh. Take a much-needed rest and in the evening stroll nearby places or interact with locals. Stay Overnight.

Day 06 29th July: Open Day in Leh

Today is a free exploring day in Leh. After breakfast, visit the attractive Leh Palace. Next, head to Shanti Stupa whose peaceful and pleasant atmosphere mesmerizes everyone. Later explore the Leh market. Stay Overnight.

Day 07 30th July: Drive from Leh to Korzok and camp at the meadow

In the morning after breakfast, drive to Korzok/Karzok village which is at an elevation of 4,549 m. It is considered as the highest permanent settlement in India. This is a Buddhist village and houses several monasteries. Korzok Monastery is a beautiful attraction and a popular Buddhist pilgrimage site that is also home to 70 monks. Nomad camps at different places were also major attractions where they looked after their sheep. From sheep’s wool, the famous Pashmina is produced. This monastery also holds the Korzok Gustor festival in the month of Aug/Jul which lasts for two days. Several homestays are the means of accommodation. Stay Overnight.

Day 08 31st July: Explore the lake and viewpoints and meet with Nomads

An amazing ride commences after breakfast to explore the mesmerizing Tsomoriri Lake. Traverse through Chumathang Hot Spring and reach Lake Moriri at an elevation of 4,522 m. The avifauna, mammals, vegetation, and the lake itself in the vicinity are major attractions. Explore around the lake and meet with nomads. Interact with them and learn new insights relating to their lifestyle. Stay overnight.

Day 09 1st August: Drive to Leh

Drive back to Leh after having breakfast. Just adore the scenery and traverse Puga Sulphur Mine and enchanting Tsokar Lake. Upon reaching Leh, check into the hotel. Stay Overnight.

Day 10 2nd August: Departures Ladakh Overland

The 9 days Leh Overland tour came to an end. After breakfast, depart from Leh enjoying in a comfortable private vehicle.
