Mt. Makalu, the world’s 5th highest mountain with an altitude of 8481 meters, lies to the southeast of Mt Everest. The first successful attempt was in 1955 by three French teams. Climbing Mt Makalu is a serious, full-fledged mountaineering expedition in Nepal. Its highly vertical slopes and sharp-edged ridges require the best, the most courageous, the most skilled climbers. And above all, the most prideful and the hungriest adventurer in you. Like the other mountaineering expeditions, the Mt Makalu expedition also includes a top-class trek of several days in the mountains of Nepal. During the approach and the return, you will get a chance to observe the Nepalese hill life and culture up close.

Trip Overview
Makalu Expedition was discovered by the British Everest Reconnaissance team in 1921. Later on, Edmund Hillary and Eric Shipton also took photographs of the peak. The first attempt to climb was in 1954, but the success came only in 1955. The standard route to the summit follows the north face, climbing along its northeastern ridge through the Makalu-La. Since then many expeditions have successfully kissed the summit of the peak.
Makalu Expedition is perfect for all climbers who seek adventure and challenge at the same time. Be a part of this journey with Outdoor Himalayan for a remarkable experience.
