Detail Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu

As you land at the international airport in Kathmandu, the representative of Outdoor Himalayan Treks will meet you there and transfer you to your hotel. Have some rest and relaxation at the hotel, and if you have free time, you can do some sightseeing.

Day 02 Sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today you go on guided a tour of Swyambhunath, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath as well as other areas depending upon the availability of time. Explore the world of rich historical monuments listed with the UNESCO — you will certainly admire these remnants of ancient Nepalese civilization.

Day 03 Arrive at Paro. (2280m)

The flight from Kathmandu to Paro is a beautiful mountain flight with the sceneries of Mt Everest, Kanchanjunga, Makalu and other mountains in Nepal, and of Chomolari, Jichu Drakey, and Tsrim Gang in Bhutan. In the afternoon, a visit to Bhutan’s national museum, known as Ta-Dzong in the local language, opens you a widow into the history and culture of this little known kingdom of the world. Ta-Dzong was originally built as a fort in the 17th century to protect the nation from Tibetan invasion.

Day 04 Paro sightseeing

Taking a sightseeing trip in Paro will reveal to you the rich mythological and religious background of the nation’s religion. A three hours’ hike to Taktsang Monastery, built in the 17th century in the place where Guru Padmashambhava— a founder of the most ancient sect of Tibetan Buddhism—had meditated in the 8th century, will culminate in excitement because the views from the top of the hill hold your breath.

Day 05 Paro - Jele Dzong (3450m) 3/4 hours

Today’s trek, lasting for about four hours, takes you through farmhouses, temperate and coniferous forests. Wild animals and birds can be met on the way. The highest point, of course, will be the Jelela Pass (2600m).

Day 06 Jele Dzong - Jangchuk Lhakha (3780m) 4/5 hours

Temperate forests and alpine pastures lie on the way. As you walk along the hills, you will have beautiful sceneries of Paro valley.

Day 07 Jangchuk Lhakha - Jimi Langtso Lake (3880m) 5/6 hours

A greatly scenic trek for about 6 hours awaits you today. Together with many types of plants along with rhododendron that blooms in spring, and animals as well as barren hillsides; you can also see Kanchangunja, Chomlohari, Jichu Drakey, and Tsrim Gang mountains. Jimi Langtso Lake is located at the altitude of 3880m from the sea level and a short walk after a pass will you set your camp.

Day 08 Jimilangtso - Phajoding (3870m) 5/6 hours

Another day of trekking in the high mountain region across several passes, it is an introduction to mountain ecosystems and land formations. Numerous grazing yaks and yak herder’s camps fall on the way. The other highlights are trout rich lakes named Janetso and Semkotatso.

Day 09 Phajoding - Thimphu (2350m) 3 hours

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise views from Phajoding, visit the old temples and monasteries. View pheasants at the hillsides and after walking for about a couple of hours, the trek will end. Then you ride a vehicle to reach Thimpu.

Day 10 Thimphu sightseeing

Among the places of interest in Thimpu are the memorial gompa dedicated to late king Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, the Changangkha temple built in the 15th century, nunneries, monastic schools, school of arts and crafts, government handicrafts emporium and various handicrafts stores of Thimpu. You will definitely collect memorable experiences from the tour of the city.

Day 11 Thimphu - Paro

You will drive through roundabout roads along rivers, plains and mountains of Bhutan to reach Paro from Thimpu.

Day 12 Paro - Kathmandu and sightseeing in Bhaktapur

The internal settlements of Bhaktapur are still steeped in ancient culture, and occupations along since ancient past. The numerous temples, ancient palaces, and other historical monuments sit side by side with endless rituals and festivals. All in all, try to immerse into medieval Nepal as you walk along the narrow alleys of this ancient town.

Day 13 International departure

We will see you off at the airport, as you return carrying memories that you will value for your whole life.
