Climate

Tibet has a dry and cold climate which is not surprising for a place of such elevation. The annual temperature here gets well below some other Asian countries. However, in summer and especially during the day time it can get up and over to 27 degrees Celsius. Strong winds are much common with some periods known to be extremely chilly.

Snowfall occurs almost regularly during winter and most major cities can get several inches of snow at a time. The riverbeds and plains are mostly pleasant too. As many parts of Tibet lie at or under the rain shadow of the Himalayas, there is the least amount of rain there. However, the annual precipitation is 381 mm on average with the Southeast section getting most of the rain.
