Royal Trek in the vicinity of the Annapurna region is one of the shortest easy treks suitable for all age groups of travelers. In the early 80s, Prince Charles of England had trekked in this region. Since then, this route popularly named ‘The Royal Trek’. Travelers get mesmerized by the unspoiled nature, breathtaking views of snowy mountains, forested trails, rice fields, and beautiful Rupa and Begnas Lakes. Admire the breathtaking views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung, and Manaslu during this trek.

The Royal Trek duration is only 4 days if starts and ends in Pokhara. The maximum elevation gain during this trek is just 1,730m at Syanglung. This trek is not so demanding so travelers must have average physical fitness. This trek doesn’t require using any technical gear or equipment. This trek takes travelers through beautiful Gurung settlements where travelers witness their lifestyle, and unique culture, coupled with warm hospitality.

Itinerary

On your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative of Outdoor Himalayan Treks greet you at the airport. We transfer you to the Hotel in Kathmandu for a rest and refreshment. Later, we introduce you to the trek guide and we discuss briefly the trekking itinerary. Overnight in a hotel.


6-7 hrs Hotel

The trekking guide receive you from your hotel in Kathmandu at 6:30 AM and take you to the Tourist Bus Station at Kantipath. At 7:00 AM the bus leaves for Pokhara, exiting the valley of Kathmandu at Thankot. Then, descend through the winding highway. During the fascinating drive, a short break at two stopovers for tea and breakfast at some convenient locations.

After arriving in Pokhara at around 2:00 PM, you check in at your hotel, freshen up, and have lunch. Walk along the Lakeside or stroll nearby markets in the evening. You are advised to get some good sleep to begin trekking the next day.


5-6 hrs Teahouse

The Royal trek journey begins with a short scenic drive to Bijaypur Khola from Pokhara. From Bijaypur Khola, trek onward to Kalikasthan. Pass through beautiful rice fields admiring the scenic landscapes and snowy mountains. Ascend through the trail and walk alongside the trail to arrive at Kalikasthan. Overnight in a teahouse.


5-6 hrs Teahouse

Trek to Syanglung after breakfast which passes through pretty Gurung settlements of Thulokot and Mata Thana. Relish the phenomenal towering peaks like Annapurna and Lamjung mountains in the backdrop. Pass through forested trails adoring the natural scenery and slowly ascend to Naudanda. Trek a little further and arrive at Syanglung for an overnight stay.


5-6 hrs Teahouse

In the morning, enjoy breakfast with amazing glimpses of the skyline-covered snowy mountains including Annapurna II, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, and Lamjung. Start the trek following the steep trail and pass the Chautara. Trek past the forested trail of Sal and blooming Rhododendron (during the seasons) and ascend uphill. Get a sight of the temple and stunning mountain vistas in the surroundings. Arrive at Chisopani for an overnight stay.


6-7 hrs Hotel

Wake up in the vicinity with superb views of Annapurna mountain ranges and have breakfast. Ascend uphill maintaining your speed and enjoying the environment. Reach beautiful Rupa Lake and spend some time exploring around. After a while, climb uphill to reach Sundari Danda. From there, descend for some minutes and reach another attractive Begnas Lake. If you prefer, enjoy boating or fishing or just spend some time in a peaceful environment. Return to Pokhara for an overnight stay.


6-7 hrs Hotel

The standard scheme is to provide you with a tourist coach to Kathmandu. However, if you wish to spend some extra days by yourself in Pokhara, the return ticket can be issued for your desired date. Join the farewell dinner offered by Outdoor Himalayan Treks at an authentic Nepali restaurant where you can enjoy the live cultural show. Back to the hotel, overnight.


Wake up, have breakfast then airport transfer at your required time by our representative. Safe Travels and hope to serve you again.

  • Accommodation: Basic teahouse accommodation during the trek (Deluxe accommodation for 2 nights in Kathmandu and 2 nights in Pokhara on a sharing basis).
  • Meals: 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner. which you can choose from the menu) during the trek; only breakfast in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
  • Transportation: Airport - hotel - airport transfers by private vehicle, Kathmandu - Pokhara - Kathmandu by tourist bus. Transfer from Pokhara to Bijaypur Khola and return to Pokhara by private transport.
  • Documentation: Trekking permit (Annapurna Conservation Area Project entry permit) and Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card.
  • Equipment/Accessories: If required, we are happy to provide you with a down jacket and sleeping bags (Which you can refund us after the trek), a first-aid kit, and a water-purifying solution (iodine-based).
  • Human resource: A professional and experienced trekking guide (English-speaking); a porter per two trekkers (carrying up to 25 kg); all the expenses for the guide and porter(s) are covered (wages, accommodation, meals, transportation, insurance, etc.)
  • Tax/Service Charge: All applicable taxes, service charges, or fees. We hereby guarantee you no 'hidden charges' afterward.
  • Complimentary: Farewell dinner in Kathmandu (authentic Nepalese cuisines with a live cultural show)
  • Emergency Rescue Service: Should any emergency arise during your trek, we will provide prompt and professional rescue and medical services. However, you must be already insured for such emergencies, and your insurance policy must cover helicopter evacuation (Kindly make sure that the policy covers up to 4000 meters). Moreover, you should provide your policy details and authorize us to deal directly with your insurance company on your behalf.

Best Time for Royal Trek

Travel Insurance

It acts as a safety net and is essential for trekking. We recommend getting travel insurance from a reputed company.

  • Make sure that you are insured against cancellations, accidents, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of, or damage to, baggage, and personal effects.
  • In emergencies, we will arrange for a helicopter rescue, medical treatment, and aftercare for you. All these costs shall be borne by your travel insurance company.

CANCELLATION

  • Free cancellation up to 60 days prior departure
  • 30% of the total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled between 60 to 30 days prior to departure date
  • 60% of total cost of the trip will be charged if cancelled in between 30 to 14 days prior to departure date. 
  • No refund will be provided if cancelled within 14 days prior of departure date.
  • No refunded will be provided if the guest will not show up. 
  • Regrettably, in case where the trek/tour can not be completed due to customer's own problem or sickness or unfavourable weather there will be no refund. 
  • If the trekking/tour is extended more than given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly 
  • If the agreed trip can not be organised due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, similar trip will be organised (in the mutual understanding with the travellers)
